Het zesde deel uit de Pink Panther serie, gemaakt na de dood van Peter Sellers met oude fragmenten. De Pink-Pantherdiamant wordt weer eens gestolen van de staat Lugash. Inspecteur Clouseau wordt erbij geroepen, maar het vliegtuig waar de inspecteur in zit verdwijnt en route. De tv-reporter Marie Jouvet gaat op onderzoek uit en interviewt iedereen die inspecteur Clouseau kent. Zij wordt zelf ontvoerd door een maffiabaas die niet wil dat Clouseau gevonden wordt. Maar ze geeft niet op. Is de inspecteur dood of nog in leven? Dat is de vraag...
